Why I can't meditate

The phrase 'I can't meditate' usually means 'the meditation instructions I've tried don't work for my brain or body.' If sitting still feels impossible, if focusing on breath triggers anxiety, if body awareness amplifies pain, or if meditation apps make you feel guilty rather than supported—these aren't personal failures. They're signs you need different guidance that accounts for your actual experience rather than an imagined ideal meditator.
