How long should a body scan meditation take?
Anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes, depending on what you need. Quick scans (5 to 10 minutes) work well as tension check-ins — a fast sweep through your body to notice where you’re holding stress. These are great for mid-day resets or before a meeting. Full MBSR-style body scans run 30 to 45 minutes and give you time to really settle into each body region, noticing subtler sensations. These are best for dedicated practice sessions or before sleep. StillMind adapts the length to your available time. If you say you have 10 minutes, you get a focused scan that covers the essentials. If you have 30 minutes, you get a more detailed, slower-paced practice.
